Lake Area Equipment Maintenance, Inc. was established in 1991 to provide dependable welding, fabrication, and specialized marine services to industrial and marine clients throughout the region. Over time, our company has expanded its capabilities to support a broader range of services including screw piping, repair and rebuilding of Markey tow winches, anchor windlass repair, and maintaining water-tight integrity for marine vessels along with conveyor belt service, maintenance, and repair.

Lake Area Equipment Maintenance maintains A.B.S. and U.S.C.G. welding certifications, Competent Person certifications, Power Safe training, and Safety essentials training, demonstrating our commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and regulatory compliance.

In addition to our in-house fabrication capabilities, LAEM operates eight fully equipped modern mobile welding rigs, allowing our experienced welders to provide on-site welding, fabrication, and repair services directly at customer facilities, job sites, and marine locations. This ability to mobilize quickly helps minimize downtime and ensures efficient service when field repairs or modifications are required.

Our fabrication shop is equipped with an industrial metal brake, shear, CNC plasma cutting table, and overhead crane, enabling us to handle a wide range of custom fabrication, structural work, and equipment repairs.

LAEM also provides professional sandblasting and powder coating services, offering complete surface preparation and finishing solutions under one roof. Our blasting process utilizes non-silica media and OSHA-compliant dust collection systems to maintain safe working conditions while ensuring proper surface preparation for coating. Our Powder Coating Division brings over 20 years of experience, producing durable, high-quality finishes for industrial components, structural steel, equipment, and custom projects.
